During this first edition of the Museumnight in Delft, the performative installation >rHe:ID2 filled up a glass hall of the Museum het Prinsenhof. It consisted of 22 racemes of coloured helium balloons, visualizing the visitor’s count in the 22 different participating venues.
At each of the participating venues the visitors were counted at the entrance. At intervals of half an hour, the numbers were reported to the headquarters. For each 5 visitors at one of the locations, one balloon was released, a distinctive colour in its distinctive raceme for each location.
As a visitor to the Museumnight you automatically participated in >rHe:ID2, by simply visiting the locations of their choice, they supplied data which was used as input for the installation.
The installation grew during the night, in the end showing a three-dimensional graph of the visitor’s count of the event.
in collaboration with Maarten Kastelijns and Brenda A. van Zanten. (DOSIS)
with many thanks to Guus Vreeburg, Museumnight Delft: Rene Jacobs & Nina Voets, the volunteers and the participating venues.
