>RE:ID is an interactive reasearch to the movements of the visitors of the 8th Rotterdam Museumnight,
All information about the visitors gathered throughout the night, was visualized real-time in a large scale installation in public space and on the internet.
All info is to be seen, read and overlook at the project's website

All visitors to the Rotterdam Museumnight (around 12,500) were handed a button with an unique barcode. This barcode was scanned at the entrance of half of the 43 participating venues around the city.
With scanning the incoming visitors at the venues, information about those visitors, like spreading over the city, visitors amounts at each venue, and route through the city were gathered.

This information was visualized in two ways:

One way is the internetsite.

The other a large scale installation, that was built-up real time according to the information coming in.
The installation was spread out like a building site on a public square.
Large amounts of pavement slabes and bricks, a construction shed, a churning concrete mixer, fences, red and white tape, and ten construction workers getting updates once per fifteen minutes. The workers were putting the abstract directions into a real and concrete construction piling up the slabs at certain designated spots on the pavement to indicate the different venues, and their amount of visitors. The piles growing each 15 minutes to show the visiotrs amount growing.
Then building walls out of bricks and cement, to indicate the most popular routes walked by the visitors through the city.
