Vandaag de dag nemen de technische mogelijkheden om personen en plaatsen
fysiek te lokaliseren dankzij systemen als GPS onophoudelijk toe. Tegelijkertijd
raken we echter gedesoriënteerd door het wegvallen van traditionele geografische
grenzen en duidelijk omschreven identiteiten.
'Positioning System - whereareyou, iamhere, hereweare' toont hoe in 2006
afgestudeerde kunstenaars de wereld om zich heen ervaren, registreren en
infiltreren gebruik makend van verschillende systematische methoden. 

'Positioning System' is tot stand gekomen vanuit het onderwijsprogramma 
Mister Miyagi Curating Tomorrow 2006, geleid door vijf internationale curatoren 
en personeel van Showroom MAMA. 

Het Mister Miyagi Curating Tomorrow programma wordt mede mogelijk gemaakt door 
het VSB fonds.

Nowadays, the number of possibilities for physically locating people and
places is continually increasing as a result of technical systems like GPS.
At the same time, paradoxically, we become disorientated as a result of the
decline of traditional geographical borders and clearly outlined identities.
'Positioning System - whereareyou, iamhere, hereweare' shows how just
graduated artists encounter, register and infiltrate their surroundings via
diverse systematic approaches.

'Positioning System' is the outcome of the educational programme 
Mr. Miyagi Curating Tomorrow 2006, 
under the guidance of five international curators and MAMA staff. 

The Mr. Miyagi Curating Tomorrow course is generously supported by the VSB fund.
